Will it harm my yucca plant, if I chop off the dead flower?

My yucca has flowered spectacularly, but now that it's finished flowering it looks a right royal mess. Will it harm the plant if I chop it off.

  1. No, it will do it good I have one that's flowered this year, first time in at least 6 years, it seems to have used all its energy growing as its about 9ft high.
