Will it hurt his career as an mma fighter if he losses against James Irvin? If he losses do you think he will try to compete again at light heavyweights? Will he still be considered the best pound for pound fighter if he losses?

  1. Ive seen this guy he is fight roll he is a bad dude. like a pitbull. 1st rule of MMA never ever rule anyone out of a fight. to answer your question it wont hurt his ranking right off the bat but if he loses 2 in a row that will hurt is standings.

  2. It will not hurt his career at all. True, this isn't an exhibition, but it is not a title fight either. I don't think he will lose anyway, he has fantastic stand up. At the same time, you can't count out the sandman, but Silva is so technically sound with precision striking.

  3. Dana White asked him to fight at 205lbs.  Why else would he tell him this other than to hope he gets beat down and the aura of invincibility is lifted.

Perhaps that would mean people would stop avoiding fighting him?

  4. I don't know but his face will hurt if he loses.

  5. Anderson is in a win/win situation...if he loses so what...he stepped up and fought in a higher weight class.....then he goes back down to 185 and dominates...if he wins it will just add to his legacy!...remember BJ penn stepped up to fight Lyoto "the Dragon" and lost....did'nt hurt him!..

  6. I'm not sure if it will hurt his rankings but this a professional fight and not an exhibition so it is not a good idea to lose. that will hurt his record and taint his deistic view in many of the fans eyes.
