  1. no they dont hurt they only hurt for awhile after you just have to eat soft foods for a  while!! and they do not stick any needles in your mouth they put glue on your teeth and stick little brackets on your mouth and then put a wire in it doesnt hurt if you get them just take ibprophen or what ever you take for pain after because your mouth will be soar and a week before you get them you have to have spacers witch they put in your teeth and there little tiny rubberband like things and they feel like you have food stuck in between your teeth they dont hurt there just annoying!! dont worry youll be fine if you have to get them good luck!!

  2. There are no needles involved. When I got mine put in, all they had to do was put a sort of gel on my teeth the stick the metal pieces on. Braces only hurt when you get them tightened, and it's not really painful but annoying. You just feel like there's someone in your mouth pulling your teeth 24/7 and they start to get numb.

  3. It doesn't hurt that bad, as long as you have fairly strong teeth.

  4. no you wont need a needle. The dentist cleans and checks your teeth first. Then he will use a machine to keep your mouth open(it definataly wont hurt).  Then he'll put the brackets on and you get to choose the color. Then he puts on the wires that connect the brackets. Lastly he'll put colorful rubber bands on them(if you need them). The first day or two you have your braces they'll hurt. I suggest taking tylonal. And if you get them tightend it'll hurt for a couple of hours. Don't get scared of getting braces because of the slight pain. Just think about how perfect your teeth will be after.I hope i helped.

P.S. If anyone calls you brace face , say : "what grade are you in? i have braces on my teeth not my face dumbass."

  5. Yea your mouth will hurt but i dont think it will be the kind of pain  you are thinking of and no i am pretty sure there is no needle anymore but dont really remember getting mine put on

When ya go in Just tell your self i only have to go thru this for so long and then it will be over

  6. Getting the braces put on / taken off does not hurt at all. It feels weird having an orthodontist prod around in your mouth, but there's no cutting or injecting involved. It's just awkward.

The braces themselves can hurt; they can make your lips / gums raw, and the orthodontist will give you little packs of soft wax you can use to pad the braces wherever you start to feel irritated.

It probably WILL be uncomfortable when your braces are periodically adjusted / tightened. Your teeth / gums will be sore and it'll hurt to chew food. Not horrible pain, but definitely discomfort for a few days after each adjustment. A little Ibuprofen will help deal with this.

All in all, braces are more of a pain in the @ss than they are actually painful. When you get done, though, and have perfect teeth, then they'll be totally worth it. Trust me! I had braces from 3rd - 10th grade. Three sets, plus two phases of headgear. I also had my wisdom teeth out and 5 dental implants put in later in H.S.

Major pain in the butt but worth it in the long run.

  7. they dont use any needles. your teeth will feel kinda tight when the put them in but you get used to it really quickly

it only hurts a day or to after and its nothing motrin cant fix. its not terrible pain. nothing to worry about.

its more your mouth is sore than your in pain

and then you get lots of ice cream :)

  8. You won't be in any horrible pain, but the wires in your mouth may be slightly uncomfortable until you get used to them. For the first couple of days (when you get them on, and when they are tightened each month) you will probably feel alot of pressure and you teeth may seem sore but should go away.

Best advice I can give you is to take some sort of pain reliever an hour or so before your appointment...that way some of the dull pain and pressure wont be as bad after they are on (or tightened.)

I would also suggest eating BEFORE you go to the ortho because you might not feel like doing so after.

  9. it hurts a little bit for a day or so then your fine

  10. yes and no, the process of getting braces is uncomfortable and there is a little pain involved(more like soreness). But you will be glad to have straight teeth and your smile will be nice. just make sure you brush, floss and if you can get a waterpick use it daily. My kids never had to get a shot while getting braces.

  11. okay well it's gonig to take a while for them to put them on because they have too put it on each tooth but it will NOT hurt youu!!. and hmm okay so you're definately gonig to fel some pressure on your teeth but thats normal cause youre teeth are positioning themselves and straightening out. Youll get used to the tension and the pressure it has on ur teeth. And youll have to go for some ivsits to get them tightened and thats when youll feel the pressure the most but for only a day or two, maybe even a couple of hours. You might also get headaches if the pressure is too hard so take some advil and youll be fine :)

  12. no needle!

it doesnt hurt at all when they put them on, it may hurt a day or two afterwards though..

just keep some painkillers close by and only eat liquids and extremely soft foods.

after i got mine on though, they didnt hurt. sometimes they hurt after appointments but there were times when it didnt botehr me at all!

oh, bring a good lip chap for when you get your braces on cause your mouth and lips will get soooooooooo dry...your lips will probabaly hurt more than your teeth!

first of all theyll take an impression of your teeth..then they put this ruber shield thing in your mouth...similar to if you get a cavity filled, if youve ever had one. then theyll put a bit of glue ona tooth, stick a bracket on and use this UV light gun type thing to strengthen and hardent eh glue on your tooth so that the bracket stays on...they do that for all your teeth and double check things...put the wire in and ask you to feel if there are any sharp edges or corners...

then theyll teach you abit about your braces and what to eat adn what not to eat, how to clean them and etc.

    youll do great!

    good luck!

  13. It will hurt. Not when they put them on so badd but a coupkle hours after. Puton loads of chapstick and take and advil/ibuprofen/tylenol

  14. yes it will hurt Alot of pain ...I wish you good luck

  15. No needles are involved when braces are placed on your teeth.  However, the first couple of days your going to be pretty sore.  Tylenol will usually do the trick in easing the pain.  I had braces for 5 yrs, my daughter had them for 4yrs and neither of us died from the experience even the uncomfortable days.  We do appreciate how nice our smiles look because of braces though.  Good luck, you'll be fine.  Just remember this is only a temporary thing you have to go through to enjoy a life time of beautiful smiles.

  16. naw

    just dnt tense up

  17. it doesn't hurt to get them on but they may be a little sore afterwards. i recommend taking some Tylenol or Advil beforehand. there are no needles involved. they basically just glue the brackets to your teeth and then those are all connected together by a tiny wire and held in by colorful rubber-bands (which you get to pick out!). nothing to worry about.

  18. Well, I had braces for 2 years so I hope I can help! =] Braces really don't hurt like people say they do. The only time you may have some discomfort is when the orthodontist tightens them. The reason why they hurt is because your teeth are shifting. You may experience minor discomfort at other times as well, but nothing major. The best thing to do is to take some Motrin or maybe even buy some Oragel to sooth the pain. Hope this was helpful and good luck! =]

  19. No needles but your jaws will be sore for a while after.  The actual process of getting the braces put on is awkward and uncomfortable but not painful.

You will feel like your teeth are bruised for a few days, that is pretty typical since your jaw will be tender and sensitive.  Be ready to take lots of Advil and that sort of thing.  Also having some good soft foods around the house (yogurt, Jell-o, applesauce) will probably be a good idea.

Good luck and don't be scared! It is not bad at all, just a pain in the butt.  ^_-

  20. Its not going to hurt at all.  And no there is never any needle involved.  They will probably just take some yellow gel and rub it over your gums, but thats not that bad.  In fact, when they put my braces on they gave me a gameboy and let me play mario bro's the whole time!  They just slip on metal bands around the back of your teeth and put those little metal squares on your teeth by gluing them to your teeth.  Don't worry, I think the glue is edible.  hahah---seriously its no big deal
