Will it kill my red-eared slider (turtle) if I put plastic lillies on the water?

If I put plastic lillies in my tank on top of the water will my adolescent turtle eat them?

  1. When it comes to food, turtles are not like people. They nibble on unfamiliar things, but plastic plants do not look like food to them since there is no 'smell', etc.

No, they won't die.  As long as your turtle is being fed, the it will be fine.  However, plastic lilies don't do much.  I know it makes the tank look cooler and all, but it's fake.  I understand that real plants are more expensive, but they really help!  I provides much more oxygen, food, and a happy pet!  ^_^  I'm glad to know that you care so much about your turtle.  Keep up the good work!  ;-)

  3. plastic lilies are fine. however, if you catch your turtle eating them or notice many bites being taken out you will need to get rid of them. however, i dont think that will happen.

    i think your turtle will love to hang out under them!

  4. he will try to nipple at them but its should be fine as long as there non toxic.
