Question:

Will it look bad to medical schools if i take off a semester or two of college?

I took so far organic and regular chemistry , biology and some electives. I have about a year to complete my Bachlor degree in biology. I didnt take physics or the mcats yet.

  1. You should finish college then you could take a yr off and volunteer in another country. If you take off a semester you look flaky. In some ways, a year off after college demonstrates maturity and suggests you've thought your decision to attend medical school through. Volunteering perhaps in Africa with a medical team would be an excellent solution.

  2. Definitely go and finish your degree and get it over with. You can take a year off to study and prepare for the MCATs. A lot of people do that, but make sure while you have a year off, you are being productive like volunteering or working in a medical office or hospital because they will question you about that if you are granted an interview.
