I plan to do some educational videos using multiple camcorders. I have a very limited budget. I have one good camcorder (Panasonic PV-GS500) that will have sound input from a mixer and we will use studio lighting, but I also want a separte camcorder on each person. 2 People for standard interview, and up to 4 people for round table discussions.

If I have different models of camcorders, some with 1CCD (or CMOS) and others with 3CCD and/or different chip sizes etc, when the video is assembled is it going to look okay or will it be look obvious that different cameras were used maybe even giving the impression that each person was shot at different times?

  1. Will it look odd? Not to *most* folks - if it does , it will be mostly to you and possibly other video experts.

One way to minimize the "oddness" is to set the white balance on all the cameras at the same time on the same white card under the same light.

    These were shot with a Panasonic DVX100b (3CCD - set to 4:3) and a Sony HDR-HC1 (1 CMOS - set to 4:3 standard def)...
