  1. Yes, there will absolutely still be a need.  Many airlines are flying 20 year old aircraft, and some cargo carriers are flying DC-8's and 727's that were built in the 1960's.  Take a trip to South or Central America and you'll find DC-3'and 4's still in operation.

Taking that into consideration, look at the planes being built now for air carrier usage.  Most likely many will see 20+ year service lives.  The civilian world is governed by economics.  Training is expensive these days but work hard and you'll find a way.

  2. If you are any good at Playstation or xbox, yes your dreams will come true. You will however more than likely be flying them from an air conditioned room though - aka UAV!!!!!!

  3. The answer is yes.

To get your Student Pilot Certificate, you have to be 16 years old.  To get your Private Pilot Certificate, the age is 17.

And, there's all sorts of pilots - from Private/Light Sport to Commercial (you can get paid to fly) to multi engine, even airline and corporate pilots.

It's great to get paid to do something you'd do for free!

  4. Put it this way, would Airbus/Boeing/etc still be investing millions into new ideas for manned aircraft ?

  5. Yes - why not. If you make up your mind and work hard in that direction, you will always succeed.

    Good luck.

  6. Yes - Sounds like a plan.

    Good Luck...

  7. God, I hope so because my kids will be just becoming teenagers.  Until people become comfortable riding in the back of an aircraft with a robot flying, there will always be pilots. Inherently, people like to know that there is a human in the front who believes in self-preservation.

  8. yes in six to seven years the planes will most deffenitely be more advanced but not so that there wont be a need for pilots

  9. i think so, there is going to be a big demand for pilots soon due to the a380 and dreamliners which will be put in service in a couple of years and thus the need of pilots, but with the rapid advancements of technology anything could happen...

  10. Begin training soon, and solo when you're 14.  Get your credentials on schedule and you can be certified as a commercial pilot when you turn 18.  You might need to build experience in some entry level pilot jobs before you can get hired as an airline copilot.
