  1. not exactly... when you run long distance you develop slow twitch muscle fibers. this is the wrong fiber to develop if you want to become faster. you want to develop fast twitch muscle fibers. running long distances will definitely help in developing your endurance. if you run 400m this is very valuable. To increase your speed also try doing plyometric exercises. these are like jumping over hurdles with both feet, or standing long jumps.

the music i like to listen to is mainly something with a beat, like dance music and one of m favorites is Michael Jackson's the way you make me feel!

  2. When I ran track jogging 3 miles every other day helped build up my leg strength and increase my speed and endurance.  As for music... this my sound weired or not but I like listening to video game sound tracks and sometimes movie sound tracks.  You want to listen to music that motivates you.

  3. jogging long distances will not help you at shot distances. If you want to be good at short distances, then you have to do intervals. (ex: 8x 200m sprints all out). Just listen to your favorite tunes while you run. I listen to the eagles, aerosmith, boston etc. whatever your favorite music is. You can't ask someone else what your favorite music is. also if you want to have better stamina go for longer jogs everyday. like 5 miles.
