Will learning a second language help me become a u.s marshal ?

  1. It would be helpful depending on what part of the Marshal service you were in. A second language in law enforcement is helpful especially if its a commonly used language in the area you will be stationed. Air Marshals may need different languages than other US Marshals.

    In the Border patrol, there is little doubt Spanish or Mexican would be a great help if you were fluent. Same with Immigration service. They would train you in any event for a second language but having it to begin with could be a help.


  2. I have worked in retail and my speaking 3 languages fluently and several others on a conversant level was extremely beneficial, as we had many international customers. Nationwide spanish is the most practical but consider the demographics in your area.

    it probably should be Spanish because them Mexicans are coming across the border at an alarming rate.
