  1. well proberly only if ya hav it in ya hand just move it around in ya hand

  2. mine does sometimes but he prefrers live ones, if you have tongs or forsepts you can move the dead one around and he/she might eat it.

  3. i dont think so

  4. It depends on the lizard. Some retain most of their natural instincts, and will only eat what moves. Others will eat freeze-dried crickets that are available for purchasing at most pet stores. I have two lizards, and they will on rare occasion eat a dead cricket, but only if I wiggle it around (they believe it is live, and once it is in their mouth they no longer care).

However, the question is SHOULD your gecko eat dead crickets? Only feed them to him if they are freshly dead, and not rotted or dried out.

  5. no. It is bad for them and against their instincts. Just like people don't eat rotting flesh.

  6. Some do and some dont.i dont think theres a yes or no answer to this.It all depends on the individual gecko and what it prefers .

  7. Hello!

I have had leopard geckos, a pair and both of them would only eat LIVE food.

Geckos as do most living predators eat live foods. They have to be visually stimulated in order to go after the food to hunt and eat it.

Snakes are generally the same way. Although with a snake you can have a dead mouse/ rat and you have to warm it up as you purchase it frozen and then you have to wiggle it in front of the snake so it senses the movement. Snakes generally have poor eyesight and taste the air with their tongues.

Geckos have excellent eyesight and beautiful eyes. :)

Therefore they need to be visually stimulated to catch and eat their food.

They are great lizards to keep as pets. :)

    Hope that helps. :)

    Good luck.

  8. No...not usually......I own 2 leopard geckos and they have never eaten any dead crickets I've placed in the tank. They prefer to chase and catch live crickets....I've known some lizards eating dried out crickets but its usually a different kind of lizard/gecko species....not leopard geckos...
