Will lifting 8 lbs slow ur punches down?

i box so i dont wnana lose my speed, i mainly do pushups situps and squating and now i started to lift weights everyday with the 8lbs . btw im 16 uyears old asian and my bicep is 15 inches around

  1. Im a striker bro, i know what you want and need. Adding muscle to your arsenal wont slow you down unless your built like a ******* Arnold. There are workouts and weight training to increase speed and power to your punching and technique. If you want a better snap in your jab/cross work on your tricep/shoulder/ and back muscles. if you want a more powerful uppercut/hook do some Military Press (basically workouts that look like this) and work on your traps.

    remember to punch (or kick) in water and at water to add some speed, just a speed bag aint gunna do the trick.

    Do you really think ALI and Roy Jones Jr got their muscles just from boxing?
