Question:

Will lifting weights wear out your joints?

I know lifting is supposed to strenghten the tendons and ligaments. But what about the joint itself? My knees pop when i squat and my shoulders pop when i bench. It doesn't hurt at all. It does it even going thru the motion without weight. Is it bad? And will lifting heavy harm the joints in any way?

  1. Eventually it does, yes, but I am talking about bodybuilder/powerlifter level. Do a decent warmup if your joints are popping. Start light and perfect your form and your joints will adapt. Always allow proper rest and nutrition.

  2. hey i get the same thing in my shoulders, maybe take omega 3 tablets and do some mobility exercises before training. sorry dont know much more how to stop it.
