I want to make videos so I can upload them to YouTube using Camtasia Studio 8, but if I save the video to my computer will it take up a lot of RAM? How many videos can 1 computer hold? Will I get my RAM back if I delete the videos after I have uploaded them?

  1. no they dont take up much RAM, I have maybe 100 videos on my computer from uploading videos onto youtube and it still has alot of memory still

  2. Your videos only use RAM while you're creating them or playing them.  When you save a video, it is saved to your computer's hard drive, not to RAM.

The number of videos that you can save on your computer's hard drive is determined by the capacity of the hard drive and the file-size of each video.

Of course, after you're done working on a video (and you have no further active need to access it) you can and should transfer it from your computer's hard drive to removable media.  Then, when the day comes that you need to use that video again, you can always copy it back to your computer's hard drive.

Because 320 gigabyte (and higher) capacity hard drives are so affordable in the United States, you can buy one and install it as a second hard drive where you can store a fairly huge number of videos.
