  1. Not unless they drown in it. I'm not sure if the malt vinegar would repel fleas. I've heard cedar does... didn't work for us. Frontline or Advantage were the only things that got rid of them for good.

  2. I don't think so.... Ohio State just did a study that suggests that simply vacuuming your carpet daily for a couple months will destroy the fleas life cycle.. The fleas are killed by the suction of the vacuum.. It doesn't matter if you have a bag/bagless vacuum just a reg. vacuum will do....

I would pair this approach with mixing up baking soda/iodized salt in a ziploc bag and sprinkling it on the carpets... The baking soda smothers live fleas/larve and the salt dissolves the eggs! PLUS- baking soda deodorizes and the salt picks up dirt/debris!  It's also pretty cheap!

For bedding and clothing if it's clean- you can put it in the dryer for at least 30 min.  the heat will kill them....

    If it's dirty wash/dry..

For your pet- wash him/her with DAWN dishwashin liquid the blue stuff .  Just be careful of  their eyes/ears... Leave it on for a minute or two and rinse throughly.. Apply flea drops...

Vacuum furniture and other soft surfaces that can't be washed....

To trap fleas use a shallow dish like a pie pan and fill about 1/2 inch with water and add a few drops of dish detergent.... Shine a light on the dish and leave overnight.. .The fleas will be attracted to it and drown...

If after acouple months you are still having trouble you may want to fog/bomb the entire house....

    Good luck
