  1. It really depends where you decide to take her to train.  It's impossible to say that any martial art will benefit her because the foot work in differing martial arts are so different.  I'm no tennis player, but off the top of my head I'd say boxing would be beneficial.  Reason being I train at an academy whose footwork was greatly derived from boxing.  We utilize explosive and snappy footwork which could be beneficial to someone chasing a tennis ball around.  Every see Mohammad Ali snap his punches while circling around the ring?  Might be good on the tennis court..

    Hope this helps.  Good luck!

  2. Martial Arts will help with many things such as conditioning, improving flexibility and overall strength. It help develop a strong character. It has been known to improve confidence. It can cause you to be a victor instead of a victim. Yes, your footwork will get better. But that is better footwork works for martial arts. You should have your daughter take tennis lesson to improve her footwork for tennis. I do not believe the footwork for tennis is the same as martial arts. I could be wrong. I haven't done much tennis. I used to be pretty good at badminton though..  :-)

As a martial artist we would love to believe that martial arts help in every area of life, but I can't honestly say or have you believe that.

  3. well i do karate and my instructor actually uses tennis as an example.

he says when we're switching out and using our tendant reflex it is like the tennis players do to get to the ball faster.

    So possibly it could help

  4. Most likley because in karate, our stances always have to be perfect. At first it is hard, but then you get used to it.

  5. yes it will improve your tennis footwork

  6. BJJ, lol. That won't work. Try Tennis-Do.
