  1. It's getting that way where I live even though it's really expensive.  But now with increased riders, the city just announced they are raising rates.  Kick in the nuts if you ask me.


  2. The USA weather is bad about 5 months out of the year.  So Bicycle pretty much out during that time.

    Much of USA was layout AFTER WWII into cities and suburbs all with the car in mind.  Now after 60 years we are thinking "how do we change that".  This problem was 60 years in the making and no simple thing can fix it.  It will take years to fix.

    Long time ago everything was in walking distance - supermarket, school, work, etc.  Now nothing is in walking distance.  Even by bicycle it take too long.  And people had to wait for the bus for everything, we would be waiting all day, everyday.

  3. I think it's likely in the larger cities.  Rural areas will still be car-dependent.
