Will medicaid cover...?

I have Medicaid in NC. I am visiting family in OH right now and had to go to the ER. They gave me a prescription to fill, will my Medicaid cover it, even though I'm out of the state?

Generally, most medicaid does not cover services out of state (including ER services). Call the number on your card to find out what you need to do. Here is a couple of numbers you can try:

If they confirm that they will not cover the ER, you will need to see if the ER offers financial assistance and how to go about applying for that.

They will cover the prescription as long as the pharmacy is one they accept.  You should try to find a Walgreen's or some nation wide pharmacy if you can.
