Will metal get rusty if its water a lot,i need help?

i have this charm bracelet with smiley faces and part of it broke so its hard to put it on so i decided to keep it on and not take it off,but i was wondering if it will get rusty if i wet it like when im in the shower,will it

  1. It depend on what it is made of.  Even if it gets crusty, there are jewelry cleaners that desolve that stuff and make it good as new.


  2. It will only rust if it's made of iron or steel or a combination of both.  If it's gold or silver or brass or copper of any combination of those, it may react with the oils and salt in your body or it may not.  I would think the water factor would have very little, if anything to do with the process.   You don't take your rings off when you're going to put your hands in water do you, then this bracelet should be just fine.  

  3. i would take it to a jewler and get a new lock thing on it, it will rust
