Will military recruiters inform you if something goes wrong in your process?

If something doesn't look good medically, or you fail the drug test, or just ANYTHING doesn't go right, will the recruiters just call and let you know something or will they wait for you to contact them? I've been in the DEP for almost three months now and I've called them twice and I feel like the recruiters are hiding something.

  1. Recruiters would tell you that you are uneligible to join because of whatever reason.  They wouldn't spend their precious time on talking to you if you had mental, physical, drug problems.  Remember that you are important to them as long as they can meet their "quota".  If they can't get you in, they no longer need you since you can not benefit them in any way.

  2. If you actually raised your right hand and swore into the military at a MEPS then you are in the DEP, if you didn't do that then you are not in the DEP.  It is also a stereotype to say that they do not care about you as much now that you are in.  Not every Recruiter in the whole entire United States does that and their are alot of them that take this job seriously and treat people with respect.  If in fact you are in the DEP and they really haven't contacted you in 3 months then you need to go down there and let them know "hey I am here why aren't you calling me and teaching me things?"  if you don't get an answer then go to the boss of the office.  Everyone has someone to answer to and you are supposed to be taken care of and given tips and training.

Bottom line you need to see them.  Hope everything goes well and sorry you are feeling the way you are feeling.

  3. You don't know if anything is wrong with you or the last time you smoked?

Recruiters are busy around this time of the year, H/S graduates are on the prowl.

  4. you'd know if they had something. Recruiters can't keep disqualified applicants in the DEP.  You would know.  They're probably not talking to you as much as they used to since joining and that may be discouraging.

I swear to you though, if there was something--you'd definately know.

They're just not as motivated with their DEPS as they are new applicants interested in the military

  5. If you were disqualified then you wouldn't be in the DEP. Chances are your recruiter just isn't giving you as much talk / face-to-face time as he was prior to your enlisting in the DEP and now you're feeling a little lost. Suggestion - go down to the recruiting office if you want to talk to him or call & leave a voicemail letting him know that you're worried and would like a chance to talk to him.

  6. YES they would tell you. They would not try to hide it.  If there is a problem a good recruiter woud try to fix it and suceed at it.

  7. Yeah, they will tell you. They want to see if you have an excuse that they can get a waiver for. Say you had an outstanding warrant for bar room fight several years before in another city...that sort of thing. I speak from experience.
