Is making a move from Surrey, BC to someplace up country, like Kamloops going to be hard on our 13 yr old...when all he's ever really known is SURREY...our house is currently for-sale...and this is going to eventually happen and I'm a bit concerned for my youngest son, as he'll be leaving his older brother behind ( he lives in Delta)

  1. I made the mistake of moving when one of my daughters was 13 and one was 9 - I regret it to this day.

I suggest that you Do not move from Surrey to go UP country to Kamloops, there is less work and opportunities in Kamloops than there is in Surrey, The Fraser Valley or Vancouver mainland.

Your son will suffer emotionally, believe me.

  2. my mother kind of did the opposite to me

that your doing to your kids .

I moved from kamloops to vancouver when i was 12.

I was just starting high school and hard sometimes .

There were times where i really wanted to move back .

but he will be fine it will just take time.

Plus Kamloops is a great place,

and a expecially great place to raise a family .

    hope i could help. =]

  3. don't worry, it's not about him, it's all about you.
