  1. About the holiday itself:

Also note that Museums normally have EXTENDED opening hours for public holidays.

  2. Museums will have their normal opening and closing hours; here´s a site about museums in Spain:

    http://www.mcu.es/jsp/plantilla_wai.jsp?... (in Spanish)

    http://www.idealspain.com/Pages/Informat...      (in English)

Shops will be closed on Dec 6th and on Dec 10th; 6th is Constitution day and 10th is Sunday, when all the shops are closed in Spain. Dec 8th is a religious holiday and thousands of women celebrate their saint day (all those called "Inmaculada" or "Concepción"); big department stores usually open that day because they sell a lot of presents. The small shops might be closed, but not department stores.

Department stores open from 10 am t 10 pm, without any break. The rest of the shops usually open from 10 am to 1.30 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm, being closed that long break as our main meal  is lunch.

    Hope you´ll enjoy your visit!
