Will my Eng Bulldog nurse on a Blanket forever & why?

He is 9 months old and nurses 5 or 6 times a day for about 15 minutes.

He was probably taken away from his dam and littermates too young, and now it has just become a habit for him.  Yes, he might do this forever if you don't stop him.  If it annoys you, just replace the blanket with another toy he can chew on, when you catch him in the act.

i have a cat that does that. the vet said it was because she was taken away from her mother too soon. probably the case with your dog. vet said she will probably do this the rest of her life.

My dog has always sucked on my finger as a nursing thing, he never grew out of it but I wouldn't do it that many times in a day.  MAybe once or twice a week.

My dachshund suckles on her crate bed every once in awhile. After she gets done furiously digging at it, she curls up, suckles and kneads it. And my dog was definintely not taken away from the mother too early. I picked her up from the horse farm where she was born at 8 weeks old where I met the owner and both parents and the rest of the littermates. I find the only time she does this now is when she is stressed or insecure. I do a lot of petsitting on the side and sometimes she gets stressed out and will go into her crate and do her thing. It just makes her feel better.
