Question:

Will my Goldfish be alright?

I had 2 goldfish in the same tank together and when I got home from vacation I realized that one of my fish's tail fins had been badly nipped at. Unfortunately I don't think my fish sitter had fed the fish sufficiently. What I would like to know is if my fish is going to be alright. I have a few poor photos of it. The tail fin had been badly nipped and even some scales at the base of its tail. I have separated the two fish I'm just wondering if the victim fish is going to live or not.

He still has the three main branches of his tail fins but they are just in terrible shape.

  1. Yes he will be alright, just keep them seperated

  2. It'll be fine, do a water change and fed them regulary

next time, buy a automattic fish feeder around 20$ each

  3. Are these 2 goldfish of the same kind?

It does not look like your other golfish nipped at the fins. It looks like he has some kind of bacterial issue going on.

I would go to your pet store and treat the tank for a bacterial infection.

Read the directions carefully, and your fish should hopefully bounce back

  4. I don't know, there is no picture. It says the image has been moved or deleted. I'm sorry.
