Will my Hard Drives be scanned if they are in my hand luggage?

Going through Airports will they scan any hard drives I have in my hand luggage? I'll most likely need to take 3 full-sized drives and I don't want to seem like a prime suspect or anything - and I don't want the drives to be scanned - obviously.

  1. Why don't you want them scanned? It won't hurt them. They just x-ray them to make sure they're not packed with explosives. The only places that might want to actually view them on a computer, other than a completely random check, might be a muslim country looking for p**n.


  2. They will be scanned. Point out to security what you are carrying.
