Recently my tortoise has been biting at rocks. I now notice he cannot bite into his food, It looks like his beak has no cutting edge. I have cut his food up into small pieces and he eats that ok I wondered if he will grow his beak again? And if it is natural for this to occur. once before his top beak grew very large and just shaved off naturally. Anyone have any idea's

  1. it is possible for the beak to recover and grow again but it does not always, put more calcium in your tortoises diet and it should stop biting at rocks the best thing is to get a cuttle bone and put it in the enclosure the tortoise will go for that rather than the rocks, keep cutting the food into bite size pieces so it is easier for your tortoise to eat until you know if te beak is growing again, just keep an eye on your tortoise and make sure it is eating, best of luck honey

  2. What do you feed him?
