  1. How was it damaged?  Was it "scheduled property" under your policy?

    Depending on what happened, and how it was insured, you might not get any coverage for it at all.  

    Generally, insurance companies don't repair furniture.  They give YOU the lesser of the value of the furniture (valuation depends on the type of coverage/policy), or the cost to repair.  


  2. If you have a rider on your homeowners or renters insurance covering listed antiques, and did not damage it yourself, they will probably pay you the amount you declared on the list you provided them. Send them a picture of the table before and after the damage.

  3. They'll probly just pay out, insurance companies tend to cover items for less than they're really worth and prefer to just pay out rather than deal with the repairs
