Question:

Will my Jeep still fit in my garage if I lift it?

I am considering lifting my stock 99' Jeep Wrangler TJ by either 4" or 6". It occured to me today that not only will the lift bring my height up but I will be adding new tires as well. 33" for the 4" lift and 36" for the 6" lift. As it stands right now I still have ~12" of cleaance to get into my garage... Has anyone figured out what the actual change in height is so I don't drive home and figure out my modified ride has to sit outside?

  1. I would measure the height of your door opening  and then figure the finished height of your Jeep after making your changes. This should give you a starting point.

  2. To get the Down & Dirty:

Measure the height of your Jeep

Add the total inches of lift (4" or 6")

Add to that, half the difference in tire height (New tire size minus Old tire size, divide by 2)

    Happy Trails!

  3. a lift is a lift bro, if its 4 inches then its 4 inches if its 6 then its 6, there is no additional height, you say that you have 12inches of clearance than if you raise it 4 inches you've got 8 inches of clearance if you raise it 6 inches then you've got 6 inches of clearance, just that simple, hope that helps, take it easy.

  4. At the most your JEEP will sit about 8 inches higher and should still fit in the Garage.
