My wife and our family are relocating to El Paso, Texas. I'm a Maryland state certified teacher. I want to know if my Maryland Standard Teaching Certicate will allow me to teach in Texas or if I'll have to take some more certification classes. Thanks

  1. NO, all 50 states have reciprocation. Welcome to El Paso, Tx.  El Paso Independent School District is hiring big time as that is the district that is receiving the military children. I sure hope that you enjoy our city. Everyone say, boy it is brown. They are talking about the desert, not the people who are 85% Mexican, a joke. I hope that your children get to learn Spanish here. It is spoke as often as English is. Things are slower here. The heat and the Mexican culture influence the culture. People take time to talk to each other. We laugh, rest and work hard. We are family oriented. We are the second safest city of our size in the nation. Our county hospital is one if the 100 best hospitals in the nation. We are a border city, but in reality we are one town of of approximately 2,000,000 people. Thousands cross eveyday to work, play and shop.

I guess you know this. But, well, anyway welcome to our little rancho. Que Dios los bendiga y los tenga seguros en Sus manos. Welcome ya all!

  2. Hi! I am a teacher in Texas and I am not sure if your certificate allows you to teach here. However, here is the state certification website: www.sbec.state.tx.us/

I'm sure it will help. Best of luck!
