  1. It will work with present signals until February 2009.

No, it will not work then.

The tuner in the TIVO box is for the old Analog signal. In February 2009, ALL open air broadcasts, those you receive with your aerial, will be DIGITAL. The tuner required to receive these is completely different with that in your TIVO box. You will need a set top box, similar to the old cable boxes to tune to the channels you want to receive. Your TIVO will then always be tuned to the same station just like your TV is if you use a cable box or any other set top box. In short, your current TIVO is not going to work because it cannot tune to the stations and won't be able to find your programs.

If you are lucky, the digital to analog converter boxes may be able to accept channel changes from the TIVO but don't count on that.

As far as clearing the channels currently stored, look for a "reset" button which will either be recessed in a small hole in the back or hidden under a front panel flip down cover.

    (same as the other question)

  2. Hi RJD,

Yes your TiVo will work with analog or digital signals.

To clear the old channels you need to reset it for your area and service method. You didn't say what model TiVo you have but you will want to go to the Main Menu then Messages and Settings, then Restart or Reset System, then Repeat Guided Setup. Now follow the prompts and you will be able to tell it where and how you get your TV service and it will clear the channels you don't get and set up for the ones you do.
