Question:

Will my Wisdom Teeth need removed?

I'm 13 and the wisdom teeth on the right side of my mouth have already grown in. The ones of the left hand side and growing in now and it's quite painful, but that will hopefully pass when they've grown a bit more... that's what happened with the ones on the right side. I've been looking on google and people say things about getting them removed? Does this have to happen or is it only when it's painful that it's necessary? I don't want to get them taken out... :(

  2. Not everyone has them removed. Your dentist will look at how much room your teeth have to be spaced properly.  If you wisdom teeth come in, they could very easily "push the other teeth around" to make room for themselves.  This could give you very crooked front teeth as well.  Wisdom teeth can also cause headaches and other jaw pain.

You really should go to the dentist soon and have them check your teeth and spacing out.

Personally, I haven't had my wisdom teeth removed (although I was only born with one).  It is currently coming in and I'm in my 30s.  I have no pain at all from it.  However, I did have my 4 eye teeth pulled to make room for the permanent teeth to come in.  Yes, it does hurt, but you'll be fine in a day or two.  If you do have to get them removed, follow the dentist's directions on how often to apply ice to keep the swelling and pain down.

I highly recommend you go see a dentist.  Good luck.
