One of my friends on Facebook sent me this:

Attention all Facebook members.

Facebook is recently becoming very overpopulated,

There have been many members complaining that Facebook

is becoming very slow.Record shows that the reason is

that there are too many non-active Facebook members

And on the other side too many new Facebook members.

We will be sending this messages around to see if the

Members are active or not,If you're active please send

to 15 other users using Copy+Paste to show that you are active

Those who do not send this message within 2 weeks,

The user will be deleted without hesitation to create more space,

If Facebook is still overpopulated we kindly ask for donations but until then send this message to all your friends and make sure you send

this message to show me that your active and not deleted.

  1. No, it's a hoax.  They can tell if your account is active everytime you log in.  They can also send a message or set it up so a message appears to all facebook users at the same time.  This send the message method is way to ineffective to be employed.

  2. Definitely a hoax....I got a message in my inbox the other day from a friend. She was one of my instructors in college, and now a mommy friend. I very much trust her...anyway this message appears in my inbox from her, why would I not click on it?

It took me to this website that was unavailable, it freaked me out though worried it was a virus. Anyways, point is Facebook is just something else for people to hack.

  3. it is quite easy to tell that this is complete bull for one main reason... facebook is HUGE! they would never threaten to take away inactive accounts because they know that advertisers will pay a pretty penny to get their ads on facebook... wouldnt a huge number of accounts (including inactive) sound a lot better than them saying that they had fewer accounts...

  4. that is the same stuff like "if u dont repost this a drunken elmo will come in and eat ur nips.." its fake... its called a chain letter

  5. that is so not real

  6. It's a spam. If a profile page is getting slower is because it has too many applications applied (remember, most of applications are not developed by Facebook administration). Besides, Facebook will remain to be a free social network site and one of the most established and popular ones. It has already made the founder one of new-comer billionaires (while it is still a free site).

  7. No its not real,,,
