Question:

Will my amp blow out my speakers?

I just bought a new alpine head unit.. and 4 4x6 speakers rated at 45 watts RMS... also i bought an amp that is at 50x4 RMS. will this blow my speakers? what will i have to do to make sure i don't?

  2. With only 5 watts difference between the RMS of the amp and the rated max continuous input of the amp there shouldn't be a problem. With a quality amp pushing clean power blowing your speakers should not be a problem at all. I have used amps pushing over 25 watts more than what the speakers were rated for in the past and not had a problem. The only precaution that I would take would be to not play the volume all the way up for extended periods (30 minutes or more) of time.Don't worry about it enjoy your system.
