  1. They shouldn't be able to escape, just make sure that they are not nibbling on the cage door. They can loosen it and escape very easily, trust me that has happened to me before. I would suggest getting a tank. Just remember to get a cover for it because hamsters are known to climb the water bottles and escape, that has also happened to me before too.

  2. No they should not be able to escape from those bars. If your really worried you can keep them in a tank for a week or two once they start walking.

  3. No , they should not escape. One of my DWARF ( a lot smaller than Syrian ) hamsters gave birth in a Crittertrial cage and all the babies were fine (:

  4. you  should check for any spaces they could get through or just keep them in a large tank suitable for baby hamsters. :)     ~Natalie

  5. Welll they are baby hamsters they are probably still geting used to their new home

  6. I wouldn't take the chance- 10 gallon aquariums are very cheap and work well for the baby hamsters until they grow bigger. If the litter is large, then I would get a 15 or 20 gallon.

And when using an aquarium for rodents, make sure to use proper cage-cleaning etiquette! The circulation is bad and the ammonia  from their urine can harm their lungs.

  7. i dont think so as they aint very strong when they are young but in case i would go out and buy a plastic cage or maybe buy two as they have to be seperated from mum at a certain age and they have to go in groups of the same s*x so they dont start brredin earlie !!!!!! hope this helped =)

  8. yes its plastic and they can chew threw plastic
