Question:

Will my backpack be allowed on rides at Walt Disney World?

I'll be going to Disney World this summer (tragedy, I know..) with a few friends. I wanted to keep a small backpack with me to carry essentials while we tour the parks. Things like water, snacks, meds, camera and the like. I found a style of backpack called Camelbak, which is very slim and conforming and buckles very securely. It is fairly compact and probably wouldn't exceed 5" from my back. My question is, would Disney allow me to enter rides with the pack strapped to my back if I don't care to take it off? I've heard that most rides have places underneath the seat for bags but I think I would be more comfortable with it on my back.

  1. Great question.  I don't know if they will make you take it off or not. Security might be a tad unnerved if you bring it full...or at least I would be if I were in charge of security...Many of the rides are a bit of a tight fit, and you might be more comfortable with it off anyway!

  2. some rides will tell u that u have to thave it removed   but  there isnt that many rides at wdw

  3. All bags will be check by security at each park gate. They will look in each compartment.

You should be able to take your bag on every ride.

  4. yeah Disney World makes you carry all belongings with you on the rides! I remember riding rockin roller coaster and I even had to take my bag with me! they had a compartment though lol

  5. Some rides they may make you take it off....it depends on how carefully they look...most rides it won't matter...but the more intense coasters you'll probably have to put it in a "catch-all" either in front of you or below you...it's no big deal.

  6. yes you can. unless its over sized you can place it at your feet or there will be a place for you to place it. i always either step or put one of the arm straps around my leg just in case. universal will make you put it in a locker but they are usually free for a couple of hours. they will charge you if you take longer than that.

  7. Bags are allowed on attractions at WDW.  Depending on the particular attraction, you may have to remove a backpack and store in front of you or at your feet so the safety devices can function properly.  I usually wear a belt bag rather than a backpack, as I can just slide it around to accomodate whatever the restraint system is.  (It's also easier to get to my stuff when I don't have to take the bag off to reach into it.)

  8. Yes Ma'am!!

  9. yes you'll have to take it off when u ride the rides and push it into the compartment below the ride. You gotta sit in the ride vehicles correctly for saftey reasons.

  10. From what you described bringing it into the park will be no problem.  But the rides are going to be a different matter.

I do not think you are going to be allowed to wear it on your back for safety reasons.  However, even if you were allowed I would not recommend it.    You may think it will be more comfortable but remember that on the ride you may be pressed against the back seat, you are not going to think it is comfortable if you have a camera jabbed into your back the entire time.  Not to mention that you will probably also squash your snacks and if your camera has a sharp corner one quick turn or stop and it may puncture the bladder in the camelbak.  I have seen people wear the backpacks on front, but that looks just as uncomfortable.

Unless you are going to use the Camelbak for it's main feature(to carry water/liquid) you would probably be better off with a Hip Sack.  Especially if it sounds like you are not going to carry a lot of big items.  Then on rides that you need to you can fit it easily in the storage pouch or keep it on in front of you.

  11. Hey x

Yeah your bags get checked at the entrance and then when you go to a ride you can either take it on the ride or in pouches and if they stop where they start leave em under a box or somethin to enjoy the ride hehe x x

just put it under your seat x x
