  1. Yes, that should be alright, two months in there won't kill him as long as you do regular water changes and feed in the correct amounts. Theoretically he could stay in the bowl forever, but I think a larger aquarium would make him a lot happier.

  2. Beta fish don't need a heater and a filter will just keep the water cleaner longer.  They also aren't huge swimmers so a bigger bowl is not really needed either.

  3. He should be fine, just don't put his bowl in direct sunlight or in front of an air conditioner. I've had my Betta fish for 6 months in a 2 gallon unfiltered/unheated tank and he seems happy. Bettas are hardy fish.

  4. Yes, as long as the area where his bowl is in is in the 70' degree range. Thank you for getting him something bigger and getting him a filter! ^_^ I recommend an Eclipse 5 Hexagon for his new home. It comes with the filter, and you won't need a heater as long as the surrounding area is in the 70's or higher.

  5. As long as the bowl is not on a window ledge or the temp drops to fast they need to have stable water temp or they get stressed

  6. Yes, he will. Just remember to clean him out about every 2 days, feed him a few pellets in the morning, and if they're not floating about his water, a few more in the evening.

When you get the tank, (5 gal. would be perfect!) You may notice some color changes, and that's completly normal.

  7. Bettas can live in tanks without filter, as long as you change your water regularly. Bettas does best in water temp of 78-80F, if you have them in a room that gets cold then you need to get a heater.
