I have two budgies that share the same cage. Unfortunaltey my parents are divorced. The budgies are kept at my dads and I love them very much. But I have to go to my moms house for a week and then to my dads for a week then to my moms for a week and so on and so forth. I just want to know if I leave them at my dads house and I leave to go to my moms will they be ok? MY dad will change their water bowl, and food bowl but he cant really play with them cause he's very busy. Will my budgies die, kill eachother, or will they be ok? Normally I would bring them with me to my moms, but she wont allow it. Please help. Will both of them be ok when left alone and when Im not there? PLEASE help/

  1. i think they will be ok. i leave my pets home while I'm on a trip for a week or a little more and have someone feed them and they are ok, but just really excited to see me when I come back.

  2. If the birds are used to living together and they don't mind your dad changing their seed and water cups, they should be fine. They have each other to keep themselves company, so they shouldn't die as long as their cage stays in a room that's properly climate-controlled.

Remember, the three basic requirements for survival are food, water, and shelter. If they have all these things on a daily basis while you're gone, there isn't anything to worry about. (Shelter also includes them being kept in an area safe from cats or long periods of bright/hot sunlight.)

You might also want to make sure that your birdseed stock is full before you leave, and that your dad has the phone number of an appropriate vet, just in case anything happens while you're gone.

  3. just ask ur dad to talk to them and they should be fine i hav two birds of my own and it always calm them down if they hear a voice so they dont feel alone

  4. They will be just fine as long as they have food and water. I had to leave my budgies too.

just make sure that if they arent used to your dad, he doesnt touch them. it will make them stressed and they will pull their own feather out.
