Will my calculator be prohibited on my placement exam?

I am getting ready to take a math placement test for my college course. Calculators are permitted, but are restricted, and I can't quite figure out whether or not my scientific calculator is prohibited. I have a Casio fx-9750G Plus:

The rules state:

The following types are prohibited, Models with a built-in capability to simplify algebraic expressions, multiply polynomials, or factor polynomials (often called Computer Algebra Systems). Examples of prohibited models: casio CFX-997oa, casio Algebra fx2.0, TI-89, and TI-92.

Will my calculator be allowed or do I need to dig out one of my older nonscientific ones?

  1. I'd definitely take one of the non-scientific ones.

I had to take math placement exams and we couldn't bring ANY type of calculator.  Being allowed to bring one, I would bring a non-scientific one.

  2. I'm like 99 percent sure you can use a scientific one.  All of my placement tests allowed them, and those were like the ACT and accuplacers and stuff. It could be different for other states though. But the "built-in capability to simplify algebraic expressions" part sounds like scientific ones are good. Just take a scientific one and a non-scientific and ask which one is good. They will tell you there.

  3. They should allow your calculator, but bring another just to be sure
