I want to buy a new cat and I want it to sleep in bed with me, but I don't want it to make a mess during the night! Will the cat p**p or pee in my bed at night?

  1. Not if you potty/ litter train your new cat.  If and when the cat does sleep with you, in your bed, be prepared for cat hair.  Cats shed, a lot of hair all the time, and don't be surprised if the cat doesn't sleep with you for about a week or two.  It will have to get used to its new surroundings.

  2. highly unlikly! Put a litter tray outside your door, ive never heard of a cat pooping on the bed, thats more dogs I think.

  3. Erm. Cats vary but not normally, however you should make sure the cat can get to its lavatory overnight.

However are you sure you want your cat sleeping with you? Mine have always been banned from the bedroom because while they wouldn't P on the bed they WOULD come in at 2 in the morning soaking wet with muddy paws, looking for attention.

  4. you have to give the cat a litter box and no it will not p**p or p**s on your bed when its sleeping  it must be awake to do so.

  5. I going on the assumption that you haven't had a cat before. Rest assured, as long as your new cat is litter box trained and that you have litter boxes available to him 24/7 then there should be no problems.

  6. Not if you train it to use the litter box!  I would keep the litter box in your room, to be safe.

  7. No it should go to its litter box if it needs to go.

  8. u shudnt wory about the p**p/pee thing my cat sleeps with my all the time and she has NEVER went to the bathroom in my bed or anybody elses bed so just leave ur door open cause if the cat needs to go the bathroom it will go to its litter box

  9. I have older cats, and they need to sleep with me, they need to be touching me even. I have never had a problem with a young cat ever peeing or pooing on the bed with me. They will either jump off to go or they'll try and wake you up.

You should have no problems with you're cat pooing or peeing with you while you sleep.

  10. You have to train cats. When you get a new one you need to make sure it knows where the litter box is and what it is for. Also, cats are like people in that some are very intelligent and some are rather stupid and some are just plain ordinary.

Cats are usually clean animals though and they like to poo and pee someplace where they can cover it over neatly. Just make sure it can get out of your room if it needs to and it should be fine.

However, remember that a cats idea of sleep involves getting up frequently to chase things etc. This means in practice that your cat will probably wake you up in the night by jumping on sensitive parts of your anatomy.

  11. My cats have slept with me on my bed ...one for 19 yr 15 yrs and 7 yrs.  My cats have NEVER poo/peed on my bed!

  12. No.  Cats are very clean and don't want to go to the bathroom where they sleep.  It is easy to train cats to use a litter box, and as long as you keep it clean, they won't eliminate any where else.
