Will my cats remember me?

Question

So I have read on here that cats don't have good memories (for remembering past owners) and that got me very anxious.

I have two cats, and I have been gone for the summer (about two months) out in california and I am going back to see them in a few days. I spent a lot of time playing with them before i left, but will they remember me when I come back. What I am saying is, will they remember who i am and that i am nice and that i like to play with them? I am really getting nervous.

in essence, i am asking "is two months long enough for your pets to forget you?"

Either way just be yourself and they would soon love you again just as they did before. Cats know who love them.

It may take them a little bit of time to realize who you are but likely not too long. If you have spent a good amount of time with them before they should remember you.  Some cats too have better memories than others!!!  Like people!

Your cats will not forget you. they are very smart. However they might be a little distant when you come back because they're either mad at you for leaving or I don't know what reason. This happened to me when I went on vacation for just 3 weeks! But don't worry, they'll be glad you're home. It's also not like you're moving them from their house.. which smells like you!

if you have had your cats for at least 6 months then you should be just fine!

i dont know where you heard that cats dont have good memories but my cat defidently does

he remembers where everything is in the house so he can chew on it

I don't think that they have completely forgotten you it may take them a little bit to remember you when you get home.

there was once I went on a week's vacation and I had my landlady come up and take care of my cats while I was gone she came up 2-3 times a day to take care of feeding, litter box and water etc.  and also spent time playing with them and all.  and when I got home my one cat who is very skittish spun out on the kitchen floor trying to get away from me as fast as possible.  I was able to get him and hold him after a very short time (less than 5 mins) and then he remembered who I was.

When i leave for long period of time they r kinda scared at first then they get comtable agin. it also depends on the cat. so don't worry bout it will be fine

Your cats will remember you, although it may take a little time.  Hope someone is taking care of them while you're gone.

they never forget your scent.

sometimes they get confused, like your aftershave might be too strong and they are not sure who you are, but after a feeding and petting they will remember you.
