  1. It really depends on your carrier and whether or not you have a world phone.  Sprint, T-Mobile, and AT&T usually work.  Just contact your service provider in advance and make sure your phone can be used abroad.  It can be expensive though, so only use it if you really have to.  Otherwise, just use a calling card.  Good luck!

  2. Depending your provider and it can be expensive (roaming)

so it's better to use tel. cards and call the folks at home this way. Enjoy your stay

  3. Yupp. well, mine did, i have verizone. But i think you shouldn't call anyone cause it will cost a lot more, becasue I sent a txt and it cost like 10$

  4. Maybe, depends on the carrier.  Mine worked (sprint) when I was in Punta Cana at my hotel, but it was very expensive ($1/minute).

  5. It can depend on not only your provider but your plan.

  6. u have to put the plan

  7. Of course! But roaming service could be expensive. Main providers here are:

    Orange

    Claro-Codetel

    Tricom

    Centennial

  8. yes it would but is better to call ur phone company for they wont charge u roaming.

  9. Call your cellphone provider and tell them your travel plans and ask them IF your phone will work AND what the cost per minute would be. Some cell providers work well in the D.R. but are a bit expensive.

  10. Most mobiles work in most countries.

Best thing to do is ring your service provider and check with them.

I haven't had to in the past but different providers have different policies.
