Will my cherry barbs eat red cherry shrimp?

Question

I plan on getting some red cherry shrimp for my tank. But will my cherry barbs eat them? I have read that some barbs will eat or harass these shrimp.

i buy ghost shrimp (as feeders) every month or so and i have nine tiger barbs and one will pick one up in its mouth then the rest of the group will come and rip it apart giving everyone some shrimp

Cherry barbs are one of the few barbs that can probably be placed with the shrimp.  Put one shrimp in and see what happens,

Largely, it depends on the size difference.

Most fish will eat any shrimp they can get in their mouths, barbs included.
