Question:

Will my complaint with the BBB do any good when it comes to the University of Phoenix?

I dropped my classes with the University of Phoenix (Axia) in early April to start classes at my local college. I start classes in June. It was April 28th before my financial aid was sent back. I have receipts from UoP where everything was sent back. My problem is that they refuse to update the NSLDS, which needs to be updated showing the amount canceled before I can be awarded aid for the community college. I have until June 20th for this to be sorted out.

It really pisses me off because I did everything on my end when I should have. I paid them the money I owed for the week of classes I attended upon receipt. They said I would owe X amount of money, I paid it, then I owed more, I paid it. It would take them five minutes to sort this out. They are giving me time frames anywhere from 30 days to six months and I've talked to everyone I can get in touch with. I filed a complaint with the BBB yesterday. Will this get me anywhere?

  1. A report to the BBB won't likely get your situation straightened out.  I don't think ONE report would do anything to anyone.  The best way to get this straightened out is to keep on UoP.  If you have to call them EVERY DAY at the same time until it is done, then do it.

If you do that for ages and it still doesn't work, you might consider calling your local television new station.  Sometimes those places like doing human interest, "we work for you" stories... who knows, you might get lucky.
