Will my contacts expire?

Question

will my colored contacts expire if i dont open them until next year? the expiry says august 2009 and i was wondering if you dont open the container, does it last until you open it or does it still expire according to the expiry?

the expiration date still stands.....we have to throw out unopended, expired trials periodically....
