I will be moving from Memphis, TN to Albuquerque, NM in a year. I am in a community college. I want to finish at the community college in Albuquerque. Will my credits transfer? I can't find a site that will tell me.

  1. For most community or state colleges they should. I go to school in NY and i have credits from high school through three different colleges, and all community colleges in a few states said they would accept them.

  2. Contact admissions in Albuquerque. They will know while we can only guess.

    Good luck!

  3. You should contact the admissions office at the University you will be transfer too. Some schools have a transfer credit page on their website and it will let you know if will transfer exactly. All of your credits should transfer as long as you get a C or higher in the class, but sometimes the credits will only count as electives. Make sure you keep all of your work, such as syllabi, books you used, tests and homework. That way if there is a class that is similar at your new university they may ask to see your work and then they will let that class you took at the community college take the place of the class you have to take at. For example, I went to a CC and took ENG04 and I got a B. I kept all of my essays and my syllabus and showed it to my professor at my new school and they let me transfer the class and I didn't have to take English in the new school. So contact the school you will be transferring to that way you won't have to take classes that won't transfer.

  4. They should. You could ask your college in Memphis to find out for sure. They have was of finding that stuff out for you.
