  1. No it will not

  2. Depends on what your current DVD player is. For all we know it's actually a Blu-Ray disc player (which are backwards compatible with DVD's) and you are just having some fun s******g with us ^_^.

In the case you really do have just a DVD player, then that is a big negative. Blu-ray discs use a special type of blue laser (hence where the name came from) that has a much finer beam than that of a typical dvd player. Here is an illustration showing the difference in beam width, pit size, and way the disc is read: http://www.blu-raydimensions.com/images/...

Aside from physical differences there are also format differences that come into play. Blu-ray uses a form of MPEG-4 encoding, where DVD's use MPEG-2. These different formats need different decoders in order to translate the information into what we see on the screen. So regular dvd players, aside from not having the correct laser to read the blu-ray disc, also have no way of interpreting the date even if they COULD read it.

  3. No, ahahaha ummm deffinatly not. and they just stoped maiing hd dvd's and players so you'll need to purchase a Blue ray player

  4. Wrong format.

This was on a featured yahoo arcticle today.

Both HD DVD and Blu-ray deliver crisp, clear high-definition pictures and sound, which are more detailed and vivid than existing video technology. They are incompatible with each other, and neither plays on older DVD players. But both formats play on high-definition TVs.
