Will my current iPhone rollover minutes carry over to my iPhone 3g?

I am purchasing an iPhone 3g tomorrow and have about 1500 rollover minutes. I assume I will be required to resign a 2 yr contract for the new phone, will I get my rollover minutes? If I do I can downgrade my plan.

i think if you keep the same number, it should roll over, too since your account will remail the same
