I know this sounds horrible, sorry! I want to buy a $20 binder.

I want to use Amazon.com. My dad bought something for me a while ago and his credit card is still on the account. If I buy it, will he know? I think it's a Mastercard.

He won't mind the price but I'll know he'll think the price is way too high for a binder or ask why i couldn't buy at Wal-Mart or something which is why i dont want to ask him.

  1. Yes, everything that gets charged shows up. Why hide this from him? For one, it's stealing (yes, even though you don't want to believe it, it's true) and second, you will be ruining his trust with you.

Why don't you show him that you are responsible and ask him about it? If you know he won't mind the price, it shouldn't be a problem.

If he doesn't want to shell out the money for it, ask him to work to earn the money back. If you want the binder that bad it will be worth it otherwise, you should go shop at Walmart like he will suggest.

  2. if he checks his bank account a lot then yes he will find out or be very confused on why thats on there. You can also go to juvenile because thats an illegal with draw without your dads permission i wouldn't do that. even ifs its 20 dollars. my strong suggestion DONT DO IT

  3. Yep, it will show up on his monthly statement.

P.S. Enjoy earning his trust back.

  4. Yes, he'll know.  If you do it you are destroying his trust in you.  THink long and hard before you do this.  $20.00 for a binder is RIDICULOUS!!!

  5. Yes, of course he will know! The bill will show up and he will have to pay for it!

Do you think credit cards are some magic way of making payments? They're not. Whatever you charge shows up in the bill that the credit card company sends to your house, and you have to send the credit card company the money for everything you buy. Your dad will know as soon as his bill arrives that somebody who was not him charged $20 plus shipping and handling costs at Amazon. He'll be extremely mad -- and he should be. Using his credit card without his permission is exactly the same thing as if you'd gone into his wallet and taken out a $20 bill without asking.

Why *can't* you just buy a regular binder at Walmart?

  6. If he won't mind the price, why not just ask permission? That's considered credit card fraud and yes, he'll know. All he has to do is look at his bill statement (paper OR online) or call the credit card company to check where/what his card has been charged.

He could press charges and honestly, it would totally serve you right. Don't do it.

  7. Yes, assuming that he looks at his statement like he should.

  8. That must be one heck of a binder for $20.

If he's like my mom and goes over the entire bill every month, then yes he'll know. And it will show up as an Amazon.com purchase. I would just ask especially if its for school, he'll probably say its fine and you can avoid any trouble later on. Never hurts to ask.

  9. He will know on the bill. I would just ask him. Tell him you will pay for it. You also can buy pre-paided credit cards at grosray stores

  10. Yes. Eventually he will get his bill saying everything he used is credit card to buy, so yeah.

I think you should just ask him. Say it's better to get a nice, expensive one because then it will last you throughout the year without breaking and having to be replaced, which will cost more money than one good binder.

  11. Yes he will know.  Everything is itemized.  Why STEAL and use  his credit ?  Why don't you  just ask him?  Be honest about it.  You should  never STEAL anything ! Didn't you get raised better than that?  If you were an adult and not his child you could get in some serious trouble and end up in court for this.

    Grow up and be honest.

  12. Yes he will know when he gets his bill at the end of the month, that says where each item is purchased.

  13. This is very wrong. And you shouldn't do it. Yes he will find out because it will be on his statement when the bill comes in.

You should be upfront with him, and tell him since you want an expensive binder, that you are willing to work for it, and or do extra jobs to help pay for it. That is a better way of getting what you want without sneaking around and losing your father's trust. Trust is the one thing that is so hard to gain, and yet in a split second, you can lose it all together. Even though the price isn't that high, the principle of the matter is, and you shouldn't go behind your dad's back and charge up 'his' card, which 'he' pays for, and works hard to do so.

Please just be honest with him. It will save you the trust in the long run. And if he still says no...then just accept it.

  14. Not a good idea.  Theres something more important that, its trust.  Betrayal of trust is the worst thing anyone could do to someone.

He may or may not find out, 50/50 chance.  If his email address is on amazon's account then it might send a confirmation email.

The credit card might be hooked to his checking account with his bank, like mine is.  You might cause checks he's wrote to bounce. The bank charges about $35.00 for each check you bounce.  He might look online at his bank every day or every so often like I do.  I know any purchase that looks out of place and I would call amazon immediately to tell them to refund my money for something I didn't buy. In which case Amazon will tell them the time, day and item that was purchased. Its gonna look suspcious when he see's you with a new binder that he didn't buy.

If he just has a regular credit card then they send a statement out every month and it shows what your balance is, you limit and a list of every single company that has been charged to the card.  Two listing of Amazon.com is going to stick out like a sore thumb.

But don't do it because you're likely to get busted, do it because its the right thing.

  15. He will know when he gets the statement, yeah.  The credit card bill lists every transaction from the past month.

  16. He will know because he'll get a billing statement. Also, if you are being deceptive like that you can cause major trust issues between you and your dad. I wouldn't do it.

  17. He's going to find out when he gets the credit card statement.

  18. That is actually considered credit card fraud.  Don't do it.  If you want it that badly, ask your dad to buy it for you. If he doesn't, make do with what you have or what you can get legally.

  19. h**l yes he will!!

    lol

Technology these  days can do virtually anything =]]

  20. as soon as his bill comes through

  21. Yeah. He can go online (If he does his banking and such online, but he can probably find this out at the bank too), and see all the charges. Then he has to confirm it, and pay the bill.  So chances are, he will see it, unless he doesn't look that closely, which I doubt.

  22. So my kid got a hold of my debit card won stuff on ebay , and I called the police and she is now going on a little trip away for a while. She does not want to go, but you know the judge has his say. this is something that people can not let go

    DON"T DO IT EVER!

  23. Yes. When he gets his bill for his credit card, all of his transactions he made with the card will be listed on his statement.

  24. yeah he will, especially if he keeps track of everything

  25. Yes he will see it on his statement in the mail on the month after you purchase it...sorry. But you should go to walmart for a binder! It's not worth $20! Even target has cute ones!

  26. yes he will know, when his credit card statement comes in, it will show everyplace he spent money and how much. don't abuse your fathers trust like that. you will be in more trouble than that binder is worth

  27. I would definately get permission from him first.  Yes, he will get his credit card statement in the mail...or even if he checks it online.  I would ask first, tell him you will give him the money for it, or if you don't have a job, do chores around the house for it.

  28. Well it will show up on his monthly bill....so yeah

  29. it will show up on his bill

  30. he'll probably ask u if u did it since on the credit card bill, it will show where u used the credit card and how much. and he'll probably know he didn't spend 20 bucks on amazon on that particular day u bought it

or if he's stupid like one of my classmate's mother, u can easily convince him he bought something (she convinced her mother that her mother spent $600 on hollister.com

  31. Absolutely!  After he checks his bill, you will be labeled as an untrustworthy thief.  It is not worth your integrity and your dad's trust.

Just ask him for the binder.  If he says no, maybe you should offer to do chores or something.  Otherwise, respect his decision.
