  1. as long as you are listed as a driver on the policy you should be fine.  go to his agent and get a copy of the dec page to take to court showing you as a listed driver

  2. Talk to your Dad.

  3. If your fathers policy states that it covers the family then you might be safe ( your name doesn't have to be on the policy it just must state that the "family of insured" is coverd .If not then it all depends on the judge if he wants to be lenient.

  4. It depends on the state laws and insurance coverage.  Most policies cover the car and therefor the driver of that car.

  5. If you got a ticket for no insurance and your name is not on the card you will not get the ticket dismissed.  Most of the time when that happens the court just calls the ins company and asks them, is this person listed on this policy...  If you aren't then you will have to pay the ticket.  It doesn't matter if you were shopping around for insurance the point is you didn't have any and if you hit someone and injured them or even killed them that would have been on you b/c you were driving illegally.  Some insurance companies will allow 1 permissive use accident but that doesn't mean you are covered if you drive the vehicle.  Get yourself some insurance!  People like you are why I just had to pay to get my car fixed when the person hit me!!!!

Technically I did answer the question, if you arent listed on the policy you arent covered.  What more is there to explain.  I'm not jumping on you for not getting the insurance, that should be your parents responsibility, not yours obviously you are only a child.  You should talk to your parents about it so you can get this resolved the cheapest way possible for everyone.
