im thinking of separating from my husband but i don't know how my 1 year old daughter will adjust to it. will she notice? she is very atached to daddy and that is why i'm having i hard time separating. do children this age really notice these things or is it better to do it now instead of years from now?

  1. If you ask the adult children of divorce, almost always, staying together for the children is a bad idea if there is yelling, fighting, or anger going on.

Of course, your daughter will notice, but since your husband will have visitation, she'll get accustomed to the changes.

  2. Just make sure she still sees her daddy. Set up some father/daughter time. Don't feel obligated to stay together just because you have a child; it's not healthy for anyone and you won't be happy.

  3. I think it is much better for her if you do it now. Yes she loves her Daddy, but at this age she will adjust better than she would at 3 or 4. Plus, if you are unhappy (which you obviously are), she will be more likely to suffer from adverse affects than if you left now.

  4. Children are quick to heal. They are stronger than what we realize. Just make sure that you never bad mouth ur husband with her around. Most children listen in their sleep!
