Will my dog forget or hate me?!?

Question

My parents and I have to move for a while (8 months) and while we're gone we're forced to give my dog back to the breeder to look after. EIGHT MONTHS! I'm going to DIE without my puppy but there's no way I can get out of going with them... I don't even want to go but I have to.

I wouldn't be so worried about this if I hadn't already lost a dog in a move when they said I could get the dog back :(

ps. We're moving to a different country but not permanently which is why we're not bringing her.

Everything will be fine, I was in the same situation a long time ago.  My family had to move over seas for 18 months! We did the same thing with our puppy, and he was so happy to see us when we got home. Don't worry about it dogs have no concept of time. 8 months could seem like 8 hours to him.

No she will not hate you.  Dogs remember their owners! :)

Your dog will remember you.  Dogs do not hate their people.  It is not in their nature.  Depending on the age of your puppy when you leave, he will most likely remember you.  My dog hadn't seen her breeder for over ten years.  Recently, we met at a dog show.  Old dog remembered her breeder and immediately started acting like a puppy.

Dont worry about a thing. Dogs are smarter than you think. Your dog might not remember you for a little bit, but she will remember you if you give it time. She'll recognize your smell immediatley. Good luck in your new country!
